Field guide
Metal stud and plasterboard work means repeatedly measuring ceiling heights, stud positions, board sizes and openings. A readable scale and a blade that stays firm over short horizontal spans help avoid measuring twice. Florin uses the wide 5 m × 32 mm Stanley FatMax Xtreme in his own drylining work. That experience does not make it the right tape for every person.

The compact 140 mm Stanley Surform 5-21-399 is useful for a small adjustment to a plasterboard edge. A longer rasp may be more efficient when removing more material; the smaller body is easier to steer around a narrow edge or corner. Replace a worn blade and manage dust according to the work setting.
For snap-off blades, check your knife's 18 mm width before buying a multipack. Compare cost per usable blade rather than pack price alone. With work trousers, pay attention to fit while kneeling, knee-pad pockets and whether the pads are sold separately.
